Why we do what we do
Working with hazardous substances can lead to serious accidents. Since 1990, we have been committed to making production processes safer in high-risk companies. Because we can do it adequately, we support these companies with special software. This guarantees an audit-proof management of the many safety provisions that our customers include in their production processes. The aim is to work closely with operators and engineers to match their desired working methods. The approach thus becomes their approach. Our starting point is not only increasing operational safety, but also improving efficiency, resulting in a fast ROI.
After a few years in its existence, our software company found a connection with the then DSM. They were looking for help in converting all kinds of DOS programs to the Windows operating system. During this growing work, we got more and more idea of the needs for software support. Process safety soon came up for discussion. During those years, we assisted DSM in harmonizing the necessary software across more than 50 factories. This soon led to a specialization in the management of safety provisions. That area is so comprehensive that our software package can now be used very extensively in all those situations where the management and maintenance of safety provisions is necessary.
During the period that our company has been active, we have increasingly focused on the management of safety data. The behavior of sensors, which are often part of safety features, is not without its flaws. That is why it can be useful to gain statistical insight into this. Operational safety can be substantiated in figures based on extensive statistics. This means that the failure behavior of safety facilities can be “predicted” in a more objective manner. This opens up new perspectives for a more safe, but also more efficient working environment.
Sensors are actually the electronic replacements for our senses. Its accuracy and reliability can be better approximated by calculating the failure probability statistically. This means that the value of big data in that field increases as the size of comparable failure behavior of sensors increases.
Our main customer at the moment is Sabic Petrochemicals BV. They have made a very important contribution to the development of Protecs X. This version will be implemented at their chemical plants in early 2021.
Our potential customers are those companies that benefit from Protecs X in the context of the Major Accidents Risk Decree (BRZO). In concrete terms, this means that they obtain a License to operate. At any time, they can demonstrate via this audit-proof system that they are aware of their safety risks and have reduced them to acceptable levels by means of various appropriate measures. In addition to management and audits, the extensive reporting can also be made accessible to staff.
An important success factor for our company is our expertise in the field of converting important safety data into the Protecs database. In fact, for us, this means intensive contact with the workplace to understand the backgrounds of the concepts they use. In fact, this creates a version of Protecs recognizable to users. The implementation is then no longer a large undertaking.
We invest in our customers so that changes, expansions and changes that they would like to introduce to Protecs can be honored. Naturally, Protecs consists of a general shell that fits the requirements arising from the BRZO. But Protecs X also has a flexible shell, whereby adjustments arise from typical characteristics of the company that distinguish it from other Protecs users. Growing with the developments of our customers is therefore an important value, on which our current users, but also future users can count on. Our slogan is: an existing customer has priority over a new one! As soon as a new customer has a maintenance contract for Protecs X, this is an existing customer.
